Privacy Policy
The Care Card is built so your information stays with you. The care details you record live on your own device and inside your QR code and PDF. They are never sent to us and never stored on our servers.
1. Who we are
The Care Card is a product of The Perception Collective Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what we do and do not collect when you use The Care Card app and this website (thecarecard.com.au).
2. The short version
- Your care information - the person's details and photo, practitioners, diagnoses, medications, allergies, emergency contacts, appointments, notes and questions - is stored only on your device and encoded into your QR code and PDF.
- It is never transmitted to us, and we never hold a copy.
- There is no account or login for your card. We cannot see, recover, or reset your information.
3. Information we do handle
- Activation. When you activate the app, it sends your activation code to our server to confirm the code is valid and mark it as used. This tells us a code was activated. It does not include any of your care information.
- This website. We use a privacy-first analytics tool on thecarecard.com.au. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you or track you across other sites, and records only aggregate visit data such as page views, the referring site, country, and browser type.
- Purchases. If you buy a card or activation codes, your payment is processed by our third-party payment provider. We receive confirmation of the purchase and the contact details you give (such as an email for your receipt). We do not see or store your full card numbers.
- Contact. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include, and we use it to respond.
4. Your photo and on-device data
Any photo of the person you care for, and the full care summary, are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us.
5. Keeping your information safe
Because your information lives on your device, you control it. We recommend you download your PDF/backup and keep it somewhere safe, and turn on the Face ID lock in the app. As your information is not held by us, we cannot retrieve it if your device is lost or its storage is cleared. 6. Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. The limited information described above is handled only by the providers that run our product - our hosting and analytics providers, and our payment provider - and only so they can provide those services.
7. Children's information
A Care Card may describe a person who is a child, or someone you care for. That information is entered and controlled by you and stays on your device. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children directly.
8. Your rights
Because we do not hold your care information, there is generally nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. For any contact or purchase information we do hold, you can ask us to access or delete it by emailing us. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date shown above.
